Dust Jacket Condition: dj. First Edition. First edition. Clipped signature from a check SIGNED BY LARDNER pasted at head of front endpaper with inscription below signed by Lardner's son: "To Larrry Barsten,/ With warm regards and/ gratitude. The above signature/ (from a canceled check)/ makes you the owner of/ the only autographed copy/ of this book in existence./ Ring Lardner Jr." Selection of Lardner's work edited and with introductions by Babette Rosmond and Henry Morgan, and with a special introduction by Lardner's fictional character "Sarah E. Spooldripper" (whose "mind was virtually blank. It was part of her charm"). Very good to near fine with corners gently bumped and light foxing to fore edge of text block slightly extending to margins of several pages; in good dust jacket with background coloring on spine and along front panel faded but lettering still bright; small chips, scuffs, creases, and tears; and paper tapped inside spine ends (filling in chips there). Signed.
