    Poster-sized photograph of EdgarÂMitchell standing on the lunar surface of the Fra Mauro formation, the future landing site of the ApolloÂ14 mission. Color photograph of EdgarÂMitchell standing at the Apollo 14 landing site. Boldly signed in blue felt tip by Edgar Mitchell, "Edgar Mitchell Apollo 14 LPM Fra Mauro Base Feb 1971." In near fine condition. The piece measures 20 inches by 16 inches. During the 1971 Apollo 14 mission, Edgar Mitchell and Commander Alan Shepard conducted two moonwalks, spending a total of approximately nine hours on the lunar surface. They collected over 90 pounds of lunar samples, conducted scientific experiments, and deployed various instruments. After retiring from NASA in 1972, Mitchell became an advocate for paranormal phenomena research, consciousness studies, and sustainable technologies, ultimately founding the Institute of Noetic Sciences, which explores the nature of consciousness and its role in human potential.
