ORVILLE WRIGHT (1871-1948). Wright, along with his brother Wilbur, were the first to successfully control and fly an airplane in 1903. DS. 1 pg. 4 x 8. February 13, 1934. Dayton, Ohio. A check signed Orville Wright and engrossed in another hand. This document is a Winters National Bank & Trust Co. check signed by Wright to PAY TO THE ORDER OF Chester A. Hayes Treasurer Mongomery County for $633.90. This is most likely a county tax bill, as Dayton is its county seat, and a stamp on the back of the check indicates the money was deposited to the Credit of Montgomery Co., Ohio. The check is punch cancelled, but this neither affects the signature nor its legibility. The check is in excellent condition.
