SIGNED & DATED PRESENTATION COPY of the first printing of the first William Heinemann British edition. NOTICE THE SIGNATURE LACKS THE SURNAME, SIGNIFYING THE INSCRIPTION IS TO A VERY CLOSE LOVED-ONE. Wilbur presented this as a gift to a very close friend of his, David Davies, in Cape Town, South Africa. The following is from David's grandson: "David and Nel (Nellie) were my grandparents who were good friends with Wilbur and his wife [Danielle]. My grandfather was a plastic surgeon and my grandmother was a nurse. My grandmother looked after Danielle when she fell ill as a favor to her and Wilbur.all the books were gifts to my grandparents over the years of friendship." ONE-OF-A-KIND This book and dust jacket show signs of wear, use, toning, and having lived in humid Cape Town. The photos are part of the description, so study them carefully, as they are very helpful, and of the actual books being sold.
