Signed and inscribed by the author to the head of the title page "Mrs Daniell in remembrance of nearly 50 years of unbroken friendship from M G Perse .Christmas 1882". No date {1883] but inscription dated 1882 so probably a pre-publication offering. Portrait frontispiece plate of Pearse with original tissue guard, further b/w illustrations; pp. [14], 159. Marbled end-papers and all edges marbled. Contemporary full polished calf binding with five raised bands and gilt decoration to the spine, gilt dentelles, black title label, gilt lettering. binding very good with a little general wear and rubbing, leather occasionally scuffed, cloth binding with gilt lettering, very good with a little general wear and rubbing. Contents clean and tight, occasional foxing to early and later pages. A very good copy, handsomely bound and inscribed by the author. Size: 12mo. Signed by Author(s). Book.
