Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition; First Printing. Near Fine in a Very Good DJ: The Book shows mild shelf-rubbing at the heel of the backstrip; the faintest whiff of mildew odor, though there are absolutely no signs of dampstaining or exposure to dampness present; a couple of small,… faint coffee-like stains to the fore-edge; the binding is square and secure; the text is clean. Free of any creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome, nearly-new copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing the noted minor, unobtrusive imperfections. Bright and clean. Corners sharp. Very close to "As New". The DJ shows mild wear to the extremities; several tiny tears at the head of the backstrip; mild rubbing and consequent soiling to the cream-toned background field of the rear panel; the price ($15.00) is unclipped but the lower corner of the interior front flap is clipped. Remains serviceable and not unattractive. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo (8.8 x 5.8 x 0.95 inches). Language: English. Weight: 20.6 ounces. Red cloth over boards with embossed titles and designs at the front panel and gilt titles at the backstrip. Hardcover with DJ. The first stage in the determination of a crystal structure is the measurement of the intensities of the Bragg reflexions. This book is concerned with counter-methods of measuring these intensities. The use of counter methods has spread rapidly in recent years with the development of quantum detectors and of automatically controlled diffractometers. The authors of this book were among the first workers to design and operate automatic X-ray and neutron diffractometers; they have visited laboratories throughout the world where such instruments have been installed. This book covers all aspects of single crystal diffractometry. A discussion of the geometrical principles of diffraction by single crystals is followed by a description of diffractometers and of their component parts, including radiation detectors and detector circuits. ; Cambridge Monographs on Physics. ; xv, 331 pages.
