Shaw, Jr. on front endpaper, light binding wear, offsetting in the gutters of the endpapers, textblock edge faintly soiled, a solid very good copy. Inscribed by a contributing editor, military historian Rowland P. Gill, to (Henry I.) Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Savile Lumley & Kenneth Shoesmith (illustrator). 1st Edition. Title page undated, this is the First Edition of this dictionary of sailors sea slang, this example retains the very scarce dustjacket, and is signed and inscribed by the author, there seems to be a bit of uncertainty to the actual date of the First Edition, The British Library and a number of Institutional library collections date the book to 1929, The National Maritime Museum date it to 1935, the inscription by the author in this copy is 1936, so maybe the 1935 date might be the correct one. The jacket has marking, creasing and some loss, else still generally complete, there is some noticeable discolouration to the cloth and titling to the spine, internally some browning to endpapers, foxing to outer page edges else in good general condition. Signed by Author(s).
