Hardcover. Condition: Fair. reprint. Small 8vo 7½" - 8" tall; 249 pages; [SIGNED] 1949 Doubleday & Company. HC. Reprint of the original 1937 issue. Notable for the signed inscription by Robb White on the front flyleaf to one of Eric Severied's sons, the book itself is sadly in disrepair. Cheaply bound in black paper covered boards and using low grade paper, the boards are rubbed at edges with nicking and fraying to binding material at spine ends. The cheap paper is uniformly toned and appears brittle. Bookplate to front pastedown notes the 1966 gift from the Eric Severeid family to the Burgundy Farm Country day School, with the school's library stamps and penned catalog numbers to endpages, pocket and slip remnant to rear endpages. Portion of front jacket flap glued down to verso of flyleaf. The book is rough ex-library but very infrequently seen in signed copies; this example with the interesting association, signed to the son of one of the more highly regarded mid-20th century print and broadcast journalists. As is with all faults. Fair to good only. ; Author Signed by Author.
