A presentation copy, inscribed by Ward to Martin Stone, the creator of Howdy Doody and the producer of "Author Meets the Critics," on April 15, 1846, the day she appeared on Stone's acclaimed radio show. Stone was also an unofficial adviser to President Harry S. Truman. He produced three television appearances Truman made for the Ford Foundation soon after he left office.
