Die allerdings bedeutenderen realistisch-satirischen Gedichte lassen die Erschütterung über ein Leben, dessen sittliche Werte in Frage gestellt waren, erkennbar werden und gemahnen an Swift. Das vorliegende Werk erscheint als Nachdruck der 1909 in Leipzig als Privatdruck erschienenen Übersetzung von Theophil Marquardt, illustriert von Julius Klinger. Das Werk wurde mit der Hand aus der 16 Punkt Weiß-Antiqua gesetzt, die Drucklegung wurde im Januar 1969 in der verlagseigenen Werkstätte beendet, die Buchbinderarbeiten wurden von der Buchbinderei Oldenbourg, München, ausgeführt. Die Ausgabe bleibt beschränkt auf 980 numerierte Exemplare der einmaligen Auflage.
