Inscribed by editor Florin Constantiniu in pen on the half-title page. A fascinating and never before available collection reproducing the content of 110 pieces of declassified correspondence relating to Soviet diplomat Andrey Vyshinsky (1883-1954) and other operatives, regarding both diplomatic and clandestine military activities in the relationship between the Soviet Union and Romania, in the immediate aftermath of WWII. The publication was organized by the Romanian Academy's Institute for the Study of Totalitarianism in conjunction with partners at the Russian Academy of Sciences Institute of Slavic and Balkan Studies. Documents originate from the Soviet state archives in Moscow. Text throughout in Romanian, with an additional preface and list of included documents (with short descriptions) in English. Title pages in both Romanian and Russian. Wrappers with some light rubbing to extremities and a few light scratches. Wrappers in very good, interior in near fine condition overall.
