Hardcover. Condition: Very Good Plus. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. H. A. Rey (illustrator). 1945, Vintage Copy. Early reprint in jacket. Illustrated paper-covered boards with black cloth. Sewn binding. Book is like first printing as to title and copyright page; there is no way to tell a first without the jacket. This copy is very nice, with clean, very crisp pages and wonderful color--great printing quality. The dust jacket has just a little rubbing and wear, and a piece out (about the size of a dime) from the bottom back panel. Very Good jacket. Prince on flap reads $2.50; a first printing would state $1.75. Please see photos. Not Signed.

Signed
First or early edition. Signed by the author and inscribed with an original drawing. Publisher's original illustrated paper covered boards with a blue cloth spine, without dustwrapper. Illustrated in colour throughout. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the extremities rubbed, the corners with some chipping and the lower panel with a few small marks. The lightly toned contents, with the odd finger mark to a few margins and slight offsetting at the endpapers, are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions. A lovely inscribed copy, scarce thus. Inscribed by both Margret Rey and H. A. Rey alongside a rabbit doodle in black ink on the front free endpaper "To Regan Jessett / [rabbit drawing] / Margret Rey / & H. A. Rey". A wonderful story about a spotty baby rabbit in a family of white rabbits learning that it's ok to be different. Margret and H. A. Rey were a German-American husband and wife team who created many beloved children's books, though they are best known for the hugely popular 'Curious George' series starring an adventurous monkey which has been adapted into various animations (and even a video game). Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
