The First District Training Command was opened in November, 1941 but was greatly expanded to 650 acres in 1942 at the start of World War II and served as a training base for airmen and crews. The base was closed in 1946. Previous owner's name, Capt. Carlos Emmanuelli, on front paste-down, and stamp of Major Carlos Emmanuelli on front cover, no other marks in book, binding tight. Covers show light soiling, corners bumped. A very scarce, detailed account of the operation of a large air force training base during World War II. Book condition VG. Binding: HB.
