In red cloth boards (hard back) no dust jacket. 298 pp. A fascinating account of Empire as seen by one engaged in its administration at its very height. Dunsterville was the original Stalk…y and was a friend of Kipling's at school, a friendship he describes in the early chapters. Illustrated with black and white photographs of the author at various stages of life. In good condition, spine a bit faded, some water damage to front cover. Edges are bumped. Binding is sound, no inscriptions or markings.

Half dark purple morocco over mauve cloth boards. Five raised bands with gilt compartments. Marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Some wear to heads and tails, as well as to the… raised bands, predominantly to Vol. XXI (see image). Moderate wear to corners and hinges, while all remaining intact. Clean interiors with no previous owners' names or other defacements. 6.75 x 9.75 in each (17 x 25 cm).
