One of McLoughlin Bros. alphabet books for children, this one features an American patriotic theme and bright chromolithographs. Accompanying the patriotic illuminated alphabet are small vignettes defining each word. Several spelling and reading lessons are included, and a rhyming verse is titled "Alphabet Jingles," "Great A, little a, / Bouncing B, / The cat's in the cup-board, / and can't see me.".
