With previous owner names on endpapers and page edges. Pencilled notation with Dickinson's name and address in rear of volume 1 [hence publication location inference]. Vol 1 contains Part I, covering boilers, pumps, and heating and ventilating machinery. Vol 2 contains Part II covering engines, turbines and condensors. Highly pragmatic, these books use a question and answer format to get to proper operational procedures for the machinery covered. Part II has a note as well indicating that "this book is intended to fit a person for any examination for a license to have charge and operate the different plants operated by steam." Had I been an engineer in the period, I suspect these would have been on my shelf.…
