Original publisher's card binding with colour & b/w photographs of Winton and refugee children./ From the library of Victor Ross, born Rosenfeld (1919-2021) an Austrian Jewish refugee from Nazi occupation who became Chairman of ReaderÕs Digest, Europe, and an author. He conceived and led the 'Thank You Britain' fund in the 1960s, raising £96,000 (well over £1 million in todayÕs terms) within the Jewish refugee community from central Europe, for a scholarship fund and series of annual lectures at the British Academy./Matej Min_ (b.1961) is a Slovak film director. He has directed three films about Nicholas Winton, All My Loved Ones (1999), The Power of Good: Nicholas Winton (2002), and the documentary Nicky's Family./Sir Nicholas George Winton MBE (1909Š2015) was a British banker and humanitarian who established an organisation to rescue children at risk from Nazi Germany. Born to German-Jewish parents who had emigrated to Britain at the beginning of the 20th century, Winton supervised the rescue of 669 children, most of them Jewish, from Czechoslovakia on the eve of World War II. Winton found homes for the children and arranged for their safe passage to Britain. This operation was later known as the Czech Kindertransport Fine.
