(2-3, 4-6, 5-7, 6-8, 6-H.S.) for which this grades 4-6. The books feature accurate texts, notes and numbered lines, portraits, biographical sketches, new type, good paper and binding. This book is set in the Austrian Alps. It is a fantasy story originally written in 1841 by John Ruskin for the twelve-year-old Effie Gray. It was published in book form in 1851, and became an early Victorian classic that illustrates the triumph of love, kindness, and goodness over evil. It can also be characterized as a fable or a fabricated origin myth. It is a tale of the two Black Brothers who spite the wind and the King of the Golden River-and then for their misdeeds, are turned into stone. A clean very presentable school book.
