Red cloth, illustrated and lettered on front cover in black, black lettering on spine, w/ d.j., cover art of shipwrecked sailor off the Oregon Coast (minor edgewear head & foot of spine, 1 small tear lower fore-edge, minor dustsoiling), still NF/VG copy. First edition of this very scarce historical novel of shipwrecks, adventure, lost races in the South Pacific, and tragedy by the author considered the Jules Verne of the Oregon Coast. Dr. Linton (1865-1930), was the longtime druggist in Waldport, Oregon, and is perhaps best known for his science fiction story, The Earth Motor.
