Original Wraps. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. Very fresh copies with the faintest touch of edgewear else fine -- illus. wraps. 20 x 13.5 cm. Two issues of promotional brochure/magazine dated 1953 and 1954 excerpting early Olympia titles, including Alexander Trocchi (writing as 'Frances Lengel')'s YOUNG ADAM and Georges Bataille (writing as 'Pierre Angelique')'s TALE OF SATISFIED DESIRE (i.e. STORY OF THE EYE). At least three issues seem to have been published -- Kearney lists 'The New Stripteaser' (1954), which sounds like #2, the present pair likely being #1 and #3 (neither however is listed in Kearney.).
Paris. The Olympia Press. Maurice Girodias, éditeur. 1953. Fascicule in-12 agrafé. Couverture photographique. Cette brochure licencieuse, au titre explicite, contient, parmi une cinquantaine de photos dévêtues, des textes (en anglais) extraits du catalogue Olympia Press : Pierre Angélique (i.e. Georges Bataille), "Desire by the castle" ; Henry Miller, "Some Sunday afternoon" ; D. A. F. de Sade, "The Virgin and the bandits" ; John Cleland, "Fanny makes her debut". Une curiosité éditoriale, bien dans les manières de Maurice Girodias. Très bel exemplaire.
