Softcover. Condition: Fine. First edition. Fine in marbled wrappers. Copy letter "A" of 26 lettered copies (of a total edition of 176) Signed by Welty. George Bixby's copy, the proprietor of the Albondocani Press series, who kept Copy # "1" and Copy letter "A" of each of his published books. A beautifully produced little volume of Welty's splendid essay on her youthful obsession with reading the "sweet devouring" of the title. One of the truly scarce Welty titles, and probably her most sought-after limited edition. A wonderful little book.
