A few stray food stains, mostly to fore-edge. Originally printed in 1970 at the San Francisco Zen Center, the book was reprinted in 1986, 1995, and 2009 for revisions to recipes. "First printing, October 1970", "Second printing (with corrections) February 1971", "Third printing March 1971", Fourth printing May 1971" and "Fifth printing September 1971 (with additional revision, keep those letters coming)" stated. '1970' on title page. Near fine plus, if not fine hardback. No dust jacket. Hand-drawn heart with red ball-point pen (4 inch by 2.75 inch) in upper left corner of front free endpaper with "To John from Nancy 1976" inside. Only trivial additional signs of age/wear/previous use.
