Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. As far as I can see, this will be the earliest printing of this title (stated second printing, 1946) for sale anywhere on the Internet. And despite it being published in 1946 it has a very good dust jacket. You can take a look at the first three photographs I've provided. The jacket is clean. It is Not price-clipped. It has a few light creases, a spot of tiny loss at the top of the spine, a light pen jag near the bottom of the rear also a slight tear across from the pen jag. Despite these small imperfections, it presents very well, as you can see in the photographs. The dust jacket will be fitted with a protective cover. The book itself is in even better condition. The covers are spotless. They are not worn. The gilt lettering on the spine is bright. The book is very well bound, no issues there. A previous owner signed his name (dated 1947) on the front free end paper. There are a couple of specks of soiling on this front end paper. After that the book is very, very clean. No soiling, no markings, no writing/underlining anywhere. I don't see any creasing. A really nice copy and a very rare second printing, published the year after the first. Archibald Thompson Davison (11 October 1883 - 6 February 1961) was an American musicologist, conductor, composer and music educator. Davison was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his studies in music at Harvard University, graduating in 1908 with a PhD. He is best remembered for his work as editor of the two volumes of 'The Historical Anthology of Music', done together with Willi Apel.
Condition: Very Good. Very Good condition. Good dust jacket. (choral music, composition, music) A copy that may have a few cosmetic defects. May also contain light spine creasing or a few markings such as an owner's name, short gifter's inscription or light stamp.
