The first detailed history of the evolution of the five races of mana pioneer work, a milestone of scientific thought. It advances Darwinian theory beyond the origin of species to the myth-ridden question of the origin of subspecies, or races. Hitherto, it has generally been held that the five races of man became differentiated only very recently, in the last few tens of thousands of years, after the appearance of Homo sapiens. But Dr. Coon, in the course of his researches, uncovered startling evidence indicating that, in fact, they had separated far down on the time scale, long before Homo sapiens appeared and at least as early as the time of the first Homo erectus. Was it possible that races, like the species to which they belong, were capable of evolution? If so, much of the evolution of the different existing races may have taken place separately and in parallel fashion over a period of hundreds, rather than tens, of thousands of years. This is a controversial work and offered in the interest of learning the wide range of anthropological thought.

Overall, a Very Good copy in a Near Very Good, unclipped dust jacket, which has bumps with short tears to the spine ends and cover corners, a 3"x1.5" loss to the tail of the spine, slight sunning to the spine, rubbing with edgewear to the covers, and a word crossed out in pink marker to the inner front flap. The jacket is wrapped in Mylar.
