I like to list my books in thematic groups so that interested buyers are able to know what I am offering them and find them easily. Of late, I have been offering lots of books about railroads but am now going to change it up, significantly. Please find a goodly number of illustrated children s books; this one is titled: Thee, Hannah! written and illustrated by Marguerite De Angeli. This small hard cover book (8 ½ x 8 ½ inches, unnumbered pages, estimate 80 pages) was published by Doubleday, Doran & Company of New York, dated 1940 and a First Edition (so stated). This book is bound in light blue cloth with yellow decorations and titles on cover and spine; it is protected by a colorful pictorial dust jacket featuring one of the Artist s paintings. There is a nice painting of a street scenerow houses in pre-Civil War Philadelphiadecorating the endpapers. In addition to the endpapers, there are nine (9) full-page color paintings by the Author/Artist within the text, many of them of classic and stunning detail. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows some edge wear and bumping to the corners and spine tips, with a bit of loss in all cases. The hard covers are a bit dust-dulled and have some bruising to the bumped corners and spine tips. Inside, a former owner has left her inked name on both endpapers. Otherwise, the interior pages and plates are clean and bright and very presentable throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
