A detailed historical study into the life and works of Thomas Weaver, an English painter, mainly of livestock and horses, who was trained by John Boultbee. This volume explores the small group of artists that Weaver found himself belonging to, who pioneered paintings of livestock during the Agricultural Revolution. Written by Lawrence Trevelyan Weaver, a descendant of Thomas Weaver, is British clinical scientist renowned for his work at the University of Cambridge and Harvard Medical School. Weaver turned to history, biography, lettering and poetry in later life and this is his first attempt at a biographical work. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Fine. book.
