HUBBARD, Frank. THREE CENTURIES OF HARPSICHORD MAKING. Illustrated with 41 plates. Cambridge, Massachusetts: Harvard University Press, 1965. Small quarto, red cloth in dust jacket. First Edition. The traditions of harpsichord making as they have been transmitted to young apprentices in any one of several countries over the centuries. Signed by Hubbard on the title page & dated "June 11, 1967." An interesting copy with a calligraphic presentation on a front blank page to Alice E. Fulton, "Our First Lady." The presentation is from the Parent-Teacher Association of the Fulton School, located in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. Fulton was a teacher and principal at the school from 1921 to 1965 (when this book was presented) and she was a multi-talented musician. The school was named in her honor. An uncommon book but particularly scarce when signed by the author. Very Good (little rubbing spine); worn (several large tears & large chip, few stains front panel) d/j. $150.00.
