First edition thus (preceded by the 1929 hardcover release among others) first printing of a fine softcover pages toning. Set mostly in the Balkans featuring Roger Waterlow, Commander of Her Majesty's Secret Service, in a race against time to reach his three secret couriers with the fate of a nation in the balance. Although the copyright page has the publishing dates as 1929,renewed 1956, this copy was published circa 1969 based on the price of 60 cents on the front cover. An extremely rare item.

Condition: Good. Boards have a few marks, stain to rear edge and faded spine. Light toning to pages with spotting.
