Inscribed by Thurber in ink on the front fly: "With all best wishes. James Thurber" along with a drawing of a dog (initialed "Th") and another small sketch of a rose.… There is a faint mark, along the bottom of the dog sketch. Laid in is an invoice for the book dated in 1971 for this book for $55.
