No binding. Condition: Near fine. Single-sided ticket, which grants the bearer access to half-price rates to see "The Sensational Vampire Thriller," which the ticket emphasizes as "a play not a picture." This play, the first authorized stage adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel, debuted in London in 1924. A revised version opened on Broadway in 1927 and is notable as the first English-speaking appearance of Bela Legosi in what would become his iconic turn as Dracula. The 1977 revival of this same American adaptation would earn Edward Gorey a Tony Award for Costume Design. The present ticket is for an early performance of the touring company show, which featured English actor Raymond Huntley in the title role. The Lyric Theatre was formerly B. F. Keith's, and the ticket is dated based on the name change. Light vertical crease, minute red stain to verso, else a near fine piece of Boston theatrical ephemera.
