First Visit: June, 1939.'' The recipient is Hester Sassoon (née Gatty) who had married Siegfried Sassoon in 1933 and given birth to George in 1936. After their first meeting in 1921 Behrman and Sassoon enjoyed a long-lasting friendship. On the front pastedown is Siegfried Sassoon's small monogram bookplate.Fine in near-fine dustwrapper.
