Softcover. Condition: Fair. Rear cover detached and taped on with sellotape. Spine worn. 20mm chip at tail of spine. Some chips to margins of front cover. Ink price "40P" on front cover. Moderate foxing. ; 1960 paperback reprint with a new title of the author's 1958 novel "Time is an Enemy". [4], 7-161, [1 (advertisement)] pages. Illustrated card covers. Page dimensions: 178 x 114mm. "Drug-running on the Barrier Reef, conspiracy in a Sydney private hospital and a spitfire socialite beauty made The Gig's investigation intriguing and highly dangerous" - from front cover. Series: Horwitz Pocket Books (first series 1959-1974), PB45. The author was born in New Zealand in 1912, and moved to Sydney, Australia in 1935 (Australian Dictionary of Biography, online, accessed January 2024). Cloth. Condition: Good +. Dust Jacket Condition: Good +. 219 p. 20 cm. Black cloth hardcover in mylar-covered dustjacket. Faint stains at top of pp. 198-99, 206. Slight wear and soiling to jacket edges.

Lending library stamp and two very faint tape ghosts on front FEP plus small date stamp on one of the end pages (no other markings); slight spine slant; minor wear to bottom of spine; erasure to top corner of front FEP; binding a little loose. Bright DJ has some mall dark stains and very tiny pullbacks along edges from old DJ protector; several small creases to flaps; round stain over price from old sticker. A nice copy of a scarce title.
