Add to basketCloth. Condition: Very Good Indeed. None (illustrator). First edition. The first US Edition of this science fiction work. John Taine is a pseudonym for the mathematician and science fiction writer Eric Temple Bell. Temple Bell spent most of his life in America and published his non-fiction works under his given name and his fictional writings under the name John Taine. With the bookplate of Raymond Epstein to front pastedown. 'The Time Stream' was originally serialised in four parts for the magazine 'Wonder Stories'. The first part of which began in December 1931. This is the first edition in book form and the first U.S edition, of which there were only 2,000 copies printed and 500 bound. Unfortunately, lacking original dustwrapper. Notably, this is the first science fiction novel to see time as a flowing stream. In original cloth binding and preserved in an acetate wrap. Externally, smart with some heavy fading to the spine and some bumping to the head and tail. External wrap has a few marks with a small closed tear to the rear wrap. Prior owner's bookplate to front pastedown, Raymond Epstein. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to edges but clean throughout. Very Good Indeed. book.
