Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). This copy inscribed by the author at the head of an unprinted flyleaf: "E. D. Cook from the author, Jany 30th 1840". Small 8vo. xiv, 168pp. Brown cloth lettered in gold at the spine. With a title page decoration, several small reproductions in the text, a folding three-panel ground plan of the Tintern Abbey, and a second folding three-panel ground plan of Raglan Castle. Some light wear to the spine ends and corner tips. The binding cracked but holding after the title page. Front and rear endpapers adhered to the pastedowns (presumably as a binding reinforcement). Some occasional marginal spotting and soiling. A good copy. Scarce, and much more to with the author's contemporary presentation inscription. Inscribed by Author(s).
