It is a Fair quality sixth format (smooth orange binding) book, as per Mattson & Davis, was copyrighted in 1927 and published by the Whitman Publishing Company; it is 8" tall with 216 numbered pages of text. This book is square, worn and soiled, free of edge dings with all four corners lightly bumped and the bottom two worn to the boards; the head and heel of the spine are bumped with some fraying; the bottom edges have a moderate amount of wear. The spine is soiled and lightly faded but the lettering is intact; however, all four gutter edges have wear and fraying in the binding. The front panel is modestly soiled. The interior is free of writing, stray marks and stains of any sort; there are about 2 dozen pages that have worm holes, but they are confined to the margins (see photo) and do not obscure the text; also, the FFEP has chipped off and the title page is loose but laid in. Both hinges are reasonably strong and holding quite nicely. The text paper is heavily toned and somewhat stiff but not brittle. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book. It has no illustrations. There are no lists in this book. This book is a reading copy only!

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. This VG quality first edition book was published in 1927 by Grosset & Dunlap. It is 7-5/8" tall and has 216 numbered pages followed by 4 unnumbered pages of ads; it is the tan/red/black quad cover. It is square, very clean, completely free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are very lightly bumped, with no fabric damage.The bottom edges and lower front corners have very little wear. The upper corners each have a darkened triangle, probably some water damage. The damage is confined to the binding, the end pages and no more than 3 pages in front and 2 in back--no text pages are affected. Except for an inked name / address on the FFEP and a small book store sticker on the rear paste down, and the aforementioned water stains, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. Both hinges are strong and not damaged. The frontis is intact. The paper is very slightly toned and quite flexible. The book lists 30 Swift titles on the copyright page and 29 titles on the list at the rear of the book. The VG- quality jacket is rather clean; it has a tiny chips at the both front corners and slight wear at the head and heel of the spine. The spine is very mildly toned and the lettering and image on the spine are vivid. The front panel is intact and not faded. The front flap lists to this title in this series.
