It has a bumped upper rear corner, lightly bumped corners on the front board, and barely bumped heel of the spine. The spine is nicely rounded rather than flattened out. The interior is free of writings, stray marks, stains and any page damage. The hinges are strong and the toned paper is still flexible. The jacket is intact and reasonably free of soiling; there are tiny chips at the top front corner and at the head and heel of the spine; it is slightly darkened along the top edge for a depth of about 1/2".

In reality, this was one of three titles written by Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet Adams, who would write many of the Nancy Drew books. 214 pp. Originally published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1934, this is one of the slightly later Whitman reprints (#2164), with 10 titles on front flap & back cover of DJ, but original DJ cover art (by "The Kerrs'). Hardcover 12mo has bright red cloth-covered boards stamped with black lettering to front & spine. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, binding straight & strong, hinges intact, pages heavily tanned, but unmarked.
