Tight and attractive first edition, nicely signed by Lenski in blue ink on half-title page, of the tale of Charlie Boy at Triangle Ranch, by the prolific children's book author and illustrator often remembered for providing the pictures for Watty Piper's "The Little Engine That Could" (1930).

First edition, first impression, presentation copy inscribed on the half-title "Mabel Deakin, With A. Brazil's love, Xmas 1904". Brazil was one of the first British writers of modern schoolgirls' stories, and this is her first children's novel. Octavo. Colour frontispiece and 5 similar plates. Original blue cloth, spine and front board lettered and decorated in black, red, and white. Light wear to extremities, spine sunned but clear, the binding otherwise sound, endpapers a little toned as often, slight spotting to first few leaves, else internally fresh and unmarked; a very good copy.
