Nicely framed in a nice 19th century frame under old glass. Filippo Morghen (1730…-1807) was an Italian engraver and painter active in Naples. He is remembered for his archaeological and imaginative prints and was the father of engraver Raphael Morghen. General age-related toning and occasional minor flaws.

Avanzi delle Torri di Belisario.". - Die opulente Darstellung zeigt die innere Seite der Ruine des römischen S…tadttores, welches im antiken Rom den Namen Torri di Belisario trug. Rechts folgt die aurelianischen Stadtmauer. Typische Arbeit des bekannten Vedutenradierers in einem brillianten tiefschwarzem Druck. - Insgesamt guter Erhaltungszustand. - - (1790 Ravenna - 1857 Rom). Italienischer Architekt, Maler und Radierer. Studium an der Akademie in Bologna. Wurde dort von Antonio Basoli protegiert. Seit 1810 Architektur- und Malstudien in Rom. War unter Antonio Canova an den Entwürfen für die Kirche in Possagno. Entwarf einen Rundtempel in Ancona und war im Palazzo Venezia und Palazzo Simonetti in Rom tätig. Seine Stichfolgen zu antiker Architektur sind von Giovanni Battista Piranesi beeinflusst.
