Originally published in the UK by George Allen & Unwin a year earlier. Unclipped dust jacket is generally smart, a short closed tear to the top edge, back panel a little tanned, now a tidy removable protective wrapper. Dark greyish blue cloth covers, gilt lettering to the front and spine, orange or light red top edge, securely bound. Dark greyish blue endpapers, clean tidy pages, no inscriptions. Very good condition. The US edition is a slightly larger format than the UK edition, it measures approx 21x14cm, with a unique dust jacket design by Robert Quackenbush. Tree and Leaf comprises of On Fairy Stories, Leaf By Niggle, and an introductory note by the author.

Dark green covers and top edge, a few minor marks to the top edge, bright gilt lettering to the spine, bottom edge of spine lightly bumped, the boards are very, very slightly splayed. Previous owners name in pen to the front free endpaper, the title page has a small scuff, probably where something has been erased. Pages otherwise clean and tidy. Good + condition.
