    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. The dark red cloth covers have the title gilt-stamped with a paste-down picture of birch trees next to a path in color, the title on the spine is in faded gilt. The corners and spine ends are lightly bumped with some shelf wear. The endpapers are aged with a former owners name and dedication in ink 1919. The frontispiece is "A bend in the trail" in color. There are 16 colored illustrations throughout the book and on the cover. There are a few places where some one has marked a passage in pencil; otherwise the interior is clean and bright. 291pp. including the index.
