Soft cover. Condition: Good. (WRIGHT Aeroplane) 3 arrticles in one issue. "The Triumph of the Wright Flying Machine." and "Mr. Wilbur Wright's Aeroplane at Le Mans" and a full-page portrait of Wilbur Wright on pg 242, all in "The Illustrated London News", vol 133, no. 3617, 13 August 1908, pp 218-252. The first Wright article is a beautiful full page picture of the Wright flyer on pg 220; the second is a short notice of about 200 words on the performance of the flyer at the Le Mans trials/tests. This issue is the complete weekly issue, extracted from a larger bound volume, with an occasional rubber stamp from the previous owner (a NYC library system). The big photo of the flyer on pg 220 has one of these stamps (37mm long at its longest) in half of the left-bottom corner of the image, extending into the shot for about 20mm. GOOD condition. [++] Oh! There is also a Winston Churchill item in here of unusual interest! There is a full-page image of firefighters breaking through the roof of an engulfed building and Churchill is shown volunteering, dressed in pajamas, robe, and firefighter's helmet.
