The 32 concluding pages of the novel consist of Blackie and Son's additional book recommendations for youth. The back cloth board shows minor blemishes and scratches. Wear to cloth board hinges and corners. Spine ends slightly damaged and faded. Colouring on spine and facade is vibrant with little scratching and rubbing. Evidence of minor restoration to inner hinges. Unmarked interior. This scarce edition is considerably well-preserved and tightly bound. Very good condition. G.A Henty was a war correspondent and English novelist celebrated for his literary contributions to the historical and adventure fiction genres throughout the 19th century. Henty primarily wrote children's literature catering to young boys, but further worked as a writer of adult-fiction and nonfiction, with occasional pursuit of short-story writing. True to the Old Flag reminisces graphically the American Revolution and the struggle of the determined soldiers involved.
