The text reflects on his decades of scholarly work, contributions to the study of ancient philosophy, and his long association with the Academy, likely marking a late-life academic honor shortly before his death in 1912. Signed at the conclusion by the President, Vice President, General Secretary, and Secretary of the Imperial Academy of Sciences. Two loose vellum leaves, likely originally issued as part of a formal presentation or commemorative volume, printed on vellum with ornate gold decorative elements including a large gilt drop-cap initial, decorative heading, and ruled borders throughout; edges show remnants of former attachment, including traces of adhesive and a cloth hinge strip, indicating prior binding within a softcover or presentation format. It is in Good condition, with some light staining and minor edge wear; the leaves remain clean and well-preserved overall.
