Hardcover. First edition. Terra cotton cloth. Ends of backstrip frayed; corners slightly bumped; clipped paper adhered to rear pastedown endpaper; inked number on spine; otherwise very good condition. BAL 5969. . 303p.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Two line poem written by Fields on an 7 1/2" X 9 1/2" page dated 1879 folded & pasted to FEP. "Courage! Nothing can withstand Earnest heart and willing hand. James T. Fields" FEP loose. Original owners bookplate on inside front cover. Some cover loss at top & bottom of spine. Red page edges. First edition per BAL 5969. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Signed by Author(s).
