A wonderful two volume collection of newspaper and magazine clippings regarding fishing in England in the 1930s and 40s.These clippings are inserted into two volumes created for this purpose by John Walker & Co Ltd, termed 'Walker's Universal Scrap & Newspaper Cutting Book.The 160 pages of each volume are filled with clippings about angling, with the majority being from the publications 'The Field' and 'The Fishing Gazette'.Illustrated throughout with monochrome photographs, articles include: Border Line Tactics by J Hughes-Parry; One Way with a Reluctant Salmon by Herbert T Buckland; Accuracy with a Catapult by Richard Clapham; Spawning Habits of Salmon by George M King, and Habits of Salmon in the Sea by Eric Hardy. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, bright. Bump to one back strip head. Volume I text block detached from binding, with volume II firmly held. Internally, firmly bound.
