He was born on April 14, 1896 in Cornwall-on-the-Hudson, New York. He served pastorates in Massachusetts, New York, Illinois and Ohio. His longest term of service as a senior pastor was at the Hyde Park Community Methodist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio where he served from 1948 until his retirement in 1961. He died in 1980.
