Hardcover. Condition: Good. No date. Circa 1900. Pictorial paper-covered boards with multi-color illustration showing two children riding bicycles. Brown cloth spine. Boards are rubbed and edgeworn; corners rounded; soiling on rear board. Nice gift inscription (dated 1903) on ffep. Pages are toned, but generally clean with good edges and square corners. Color frontispiece and many b/w illustrations throughout. 97 unnumbered pages. 9.75 x 7.5 inches. Part of the M. A. Donohue's Happy Home Series. A collection of short tales and verses by a variety of authors. The pieces include Willy's Horse, What Happened to Baby's Mamma, The Naughty Cat, Seeing the Elephant, Dolly's Washing-Day, Jacob's Mishap, The Fawn Chased by Dogs, Pussy Whitenose, Rules for Dolls, The Boy Afraid of His Shadow, Owen and His Squirrel, and many more.
