Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. A collection of 55 poems by A.E., the pseudonym used by George William Russell (1867-1935). Russell was an Irish poet, artist, and visionary known for his mystical paintings and writing, his close friendship with W. B. Yeats, as well as his associations with The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. As a young boy, Russell spent summers in Armagh where he began to experience supernatural visions, visions that would continue into adulthood. In 1891 he began contributing to publications such as Lucifer and The Irish Theosophist under his adopted pen-name A.E. Russell made significant contributions to the Irish Literary Revival, through his work as editor for journals The Irish Homestead and The Irish Statesman. He played a crucial role in revitalising Irish literature, and left an enduring mark on the poetic tradition of the country. London: MacMillan and Co., Limited, 1931. Hardcover. 56pp. Includes a typewritten note 'To Vron, A.E.? I owe you an explanation about A.E. He was a close friend of Yeats, and had close association with The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
