Includes double-page lithograph "The Dance" by Matisse. Typography and process color work: Imprimerie Des Beaux-Arts. Pagination appears to begin with the front cover as page 1, last page is 140. Faint scuffs on the covers and a few tiny chips along the edges. Shallow horizontal crease across the upper left corner of back cover. Spine has several vertical creases and cracks; 4" separation along the lower back fold; the spine is chipped and with loss on the lower 3". Internal gutter crack at pages 112-113. Spine is holding. (2) Vol 2, Number 7. The French Review of Art. April-July 1940. Published 1940. Director E. Teriade. Les Tires Riches Heures du Doc du Berry. Calendar by Pol De Limbourg and Jean Colombe. Twelve tipped-in facsimile color plates. Stiff, heavy textured off-white paper wrapped around cardboard inserts. Unpaginated. Extremities are sunned, moderately soiled. Backstrip has closed tears at the upper corners (1/4 and 3/4") and lower corners (1/2" and 1 1/6"). Edges at head and tail of backstrip are rubbed and chipped with loss of approx. 1/8".
