Softbound. Condition: Very Good. Second edition, corrected. Despite the modesty of its name ('basic') this set of volumes, designed to provide missionaries and others with a good working level knowledge of the language, is a comprehensive learning tool for Vietnamese language. Incrementally more difficult lessons are followed by exercises and drills, dialogue examples, etc. The set consists of six volumes, as follows: V. 1: Phonology: vii, 77 pp.; V. 2: Vietnamese Basic Course, Lessons 1-18: vii, 287 pp.; V. 3: Vietnamese Basic Course, Lessons 9-15: vii, 313 pp.; V. 4: Vietnamese Basic Course, Lessons 16-22: vi, 280 pp.; V. 5: Vietnamese Religious Supplement for Missionaries, Lessons 1-10, xi, 381 pp.; V. 6: Vietnamese Dictionary: iv, 73 pp. All volumes VG or better, unmarked and apparently unused.
